An Administrative Services Only (ASO) plan is an alternative way for employers to fund the health and dental portion of their group benefits plan.
Usually recommended for groups with favourable claims experience, stable claiming pattern and tolerance for risk. ASO is self-insurance; using this funding model, an employer will assume the cost of predictable claims while being protected against large individual claims by an insurance program.
